About Haupt Antiek Market
I have been interested in old things as long as I can remember. Going to my grandparent's home and being invited to visit the attic was one of the highlights of my youth. Transferring that passion for old treasures into a business that I love has been an incredible journey. I started out buying things for my home and then decided to pay for my habit by selling some of the extra things at an antique sale from my garage. This blossomed into a wonderful way to meet people who share the same passion. My sales were held 3 times a year for 7-8 years in our garage - in all kinds of weather! Greg and I decided to expand our business to a permanent location. Greg thought he wanted to reclaim the garage for cars. (We will keep you posted as soon as it happens.)
In April 2003 we rented a home in Rosemount, Minnesota that was built in 1900. It is perfect for us with all the charm and character of an older home. In Nov 2003 we expanded our business and rented the building behind our house and began the Carriage House. We have now moved our Antiek Market to Apple Valley, MN. We invited some friends in the antique business to help fill all of the rooms. We have developed into a wonderful group of dealers. They have created their own business within Haupt Antiek. Each dealer has showcased their buying and designing talents to offer design and home décor ideas for you. Check out our Dealer Page and learn more about each vendor. Each month we have a different theme and we bring our European flea market finds, primitive furniture, cottage and American vintage antiques, home décor and more to you. My husband and I also love to travel. We have found a lot of fun treasures at the flea markets across Europe. We have gone on buying trips the last 8 years and have filled our suitcases, boxes and 6 huge containers. Seven years ago, we shipped home our 1st large container of antique furniture from Europe. We had so much fun. We buy pine benches, sleds, skis, goat carts, iron gates, wall racks, old clocks, a few pieces of beautiful refinished and hand-painted furniture, and lots of unique enamelware! The most fun is exploring all the small quaint flea markets in amazing settings. We hope to return yearly for more shopping and adventure.
Because I love to travel I became interested in providing "One Day Antiquing Tours". This has been a wonderful excuse to travel throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa to find those special antique shops to put in my tour. We usually pick a direction and go about 2 to 3 hours from the Twin Cities and stop at all the places you have driven by and said "next time I'll stop here". My goal is to give everyone a day away to shop, relax and be pampered on our deluxe motor coach as we wind our way through the back roads. I would love to plan your groups next day away, Call me!
